GDPR

General Data Protection Regulation

As of May 25, 2018, a new privacy law called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is in effect in the European Union (EU). The GDPR expands the privacy rights granted to EU individuals and places many new obligations on organizations that market to, track, or handle EU personal data, no matter where an organization is located.

These are your rights as an individual under the GDPR:

Right to be Forgotten
Definition: Any individual has the right to request that the Loyalty Security Alliance delete all data on that individual in a quick and timely manner.

What this means for you
This means that all attendees to our events, conferences, webinars, and workshops who have filled in information to register, all who have given contact information for requests of information, have met with one of our Team Members and shared contact information, or has signed up for our Newsletter, can request that the LSA delete any/all personal data of themselves, and it will be permanently deleted.

Please note that when you register for an event, you are automatically entered into the database. If you have requested deletion prior but register for an event after, you will be back in the database.

Right to Object
Definition: An individual may prohibit certain data uses.

What this means for you
Depending on the data being objected to, it may prohibit you from being included in our mailings or event attendee lists, we require certain information, such as company and title. You are within your rights to object to providing any of the data required in order to register.

Right to Rectification
Definition: Individuals have the right to request that incomplete data be completed, or that incorrect data may be corrected.

What this means for you
You may request that we complete and/or correct any personal data we have collected on you. For instance, if we email you by your official name but would rather be known by an abbreviation, or you’ve moved or changed a phone number or would like to add another email address.

Right of Access
Definition: Individuals have the right to know what data about them is being processed and how.
